It began several decades ago when I stuck my head into the cabinet of a Marconi black and white television set that had been stripped of its innards for repairs. I made a brief announcement of some sort and my family applauded. From a take-off on SCTV in high school, to socially redeeming projects in journalism school, to reporting and anchoring for various TV outlets, I have written for, produced, directed and appeared in all manner of projects for the small screen. I have even tangled with enormous canines (clip on right).

I left an anchor job with CBC TV Montreal in 1990. Over the years, many have taken a moment to pull me over in a supermarket aisle or to send me an e-mail to let me know how much they enjoyed "Late Newswatch" and I am most grateful. Some of the more quirky moments from the program are hardly outlandish by today's standards, but we did have fun pushing the envelope a little. I do miss live television.

By popular demand, I have dug up a few clips from a segment I called "Viewer's Corner" (see Vintage Video). This was before the advent of the internet. Viewers would take the time to put pen to paper and drop us a line via snail mail. At the time, CBC Montreal serviced all of Quebec, parts of Manitoba and areas of the far north via local repeaters and satellite signals. Those who didn't tune in via their regional service would pick us up via their "backyard dish" (they were the size of a trampoline in those days). The ground repeater coverage area and the footprint of the satellite signal were such that we received mail from as far north as Iqualuit (Baffin Island), as far west as The Northwest Territories and as far south as Texas.

In recent years I have had the opportunity to do some live TV work with friends and colleagues at Global Quebec (see clip on the right from the now defunct morning show), recorded shows for FairPlay (among others) as well as corporate and advertising work.

I will add archival material to the site as time permits. If you have anything to contribute, please let me know. Thank you for taking the time to Google and to write.
