Media Skills Training

Practically anyone can (and does) print up business cards to promote themselves as media skills trainer. There exists what I call a virtual cloud of service providers who operate far above street level where the consumer dwells. In the cloud, the billable hours pile up while the service provider does little more than humour the client. The marginally experienced leading the marginally interested. When people and procedures are put to the test (usually in the midst of a crisis), the consequences are often irreparable.

Learning involves challenging yourself and those around you to do the job correctly the first time. I offer you more than 20 years of media skills training experience based on more than 30 career years in the media. My teaching methods involve practical exercises and active coaching.

If you're a CEO, a communications director, a spokesperson, or a professional who acts as a media resource person, a program can be tailored to your needs.

  • Learn the rules of engagement in dealing with media inquiries and interviews
  • Learn preparation techniques that make for effective media relations
  • Learn to master a disciplined and structured approach to communications in times of crisis
  • Learn how to implement efficient corporate communication practices
  • Perfect your public speaking skills (for speech delivery and non-media presentations as well)
